The night of the full moon the witness had taken her dog out for a walk to a nearby lake reserve and was walking under some gum trees when she came upon a clearing. As she attempted to cross the clearing she noticed some figures in distance moving towards her. Judging from their height, she thought it was some boys. She also observed a white object that was moving alongside the short figures. Being alone she thought it was prudent to hide behind some trees as the “boys” passed by.
As she crouched with her dog she watched them approach. She slowly became aware that the figures were actually small humanoids; about 3 ft tall whose arms and legs seemed to be too long for their bodies. They moved with a strange gait, almost ape-like and seemed to be unclothed with dark grayish skin. As she watched in amazement the bouncing white object revealed itself as a rolling ball of light trailing behind the short figures. Suddenly the leader lifted his strange long arm high in the air and let out a spine tingling cry, and at this point her dog with her tail between her legs left her behind. The creatures then themselves disappeared into a thicket of lupines not far off.
This experienced was followed up the following night when her cousin, on hearing of her encounter, somehow persuaded her to return to the lake with him, armed with a camera. They did not see any strange creatures but were buzzed by a large craft of white light, which hovered several times over the clearing. Her cousin possible took some pictures of the object.

THE BLACK CLAD WOMAN
Saucedilla, Caceres, Spain - October 17 1984 - 10:30 pm
14-year old Mari Carmen Ramos was walking back home along Gonzalez Amezqueta Avenue, a wide and deserted road. Suddenly as if obeying some invisible instinct she sensed something strange. She looked around apprehensively. After advancing a few steps she noticed somebody approaching in the opposite direction. An unnatural cold and wind filled the air around her. Looking up she noticed what appeared to be a “woman” of considerable height and wearing all black approaching her position at a very high and unnatural rate of speed. It had apparently moved over one hundred meters in a matter of seconds.
Ramos stopped to observe the bizarre figure and noticed that it appeared to slide over the ground effortlessly. It kept its arms rigidly on its side. Its face appeared to be encased in shadows and no features could be seen. The bizarre woman was over 3 meters in height and was moving at very high speed towards the witness who felt petrified with fear and was unable to move. In moments the tall black clad figure shot across in an angle crossing the road and into an adjacent alleyway.
After it had gone the witness looked into the alley and was surprised to see that the figure had completely disappeared.

THE SHRIEKING 'FROGMAN'
Santa Lucia, Cabaiguan, Cuba - 1964 - late afternoon
Rodolfo Garcia, was resting after lunch in the tobacco shed, which he found to be cool and quiet. On that afternoon he looked up and saw a ‘man’ wearing a strange outfit. Its face and hands were green, like that of a frog and it had large round protruding eyes. It didn’t have any ears and its mouth was a thin line, it was about as tall as two men and stood on a wooded box staring at the witness.
Terrified Garcia watched as the strange creature seemed to be trying to tell him something. Suddenly it emitted a loud shrieking sound which caused the witness’s eardrums to burst and his ears to bleed. In pain, the witness then fell from his cot. At the same time the creature emitted a second shriek which caused the witness to loose consciousness. Later he was found by one of his sons since the family was concerned that Rodolfo had not returned from his nap. After he told the rest what he had seen they armed themselves with rifles and machetes and searched the tobacco shed but found nothing.

Lagarfljótsormurinn is Iceland’s equivalent to Scotland’s Loch Ness monster. It was first mentioned in sources dating back to 1345. According to legend, it was at first a tiny worm which was placed on a ring of gold to make the gold grow.
When the owner of the ring returned she noticed to her great terror that the worm had grown immensely but not the gold. She tossed the ring and worm into Lagarfljót where the worm continued to grow.
Whether Hjörtur’s video is indeed evidence of the existence of the legendary monster is debatable; skeptics believe it shows a torn fishing net which blew into the river where it froze.

Sorry your dying...but go find a job anyway!
Thousands of dying people are being sent letters urging them to consider getting a job, it has been revealed. The Department for Work and Pensions writes to everyone claiming the new Employment Support Allowance suggesting that they see a personal advisor to “help you move towards work”. That includes those whose families have specifically told officials that they have less than six months left to live. Ministers have admitted that 1,000 terminally ill people were sent the letters in just three months in a written answer to MPs. The shocking figure comes after David Cameron railroaded his brutal welfare reforms which will take cash from disabled children and cancer sufferers through Parliament.
The letters state: “You can volunteer to work with a specialist personal adviser or job broker who will support and encourage you to carry out reasonable steps to manage your illness or disability and undertake relevant activity which will help you move towards work.” They do say that those receiving them “are not required to take part in any work-related activity”. But that doesn’t stop them causing upset and alarm among dying people and their families, Labour MP Tom Greatrex warned. Mr Greatrex uncovered the scale of the problem after coming across the case of a constituent Stevie McGowan, 51, who was sent one despite being blind, bed-ridden and suffering severe dementia.
His wife Elizabeth said it was an insult for officials to suggest that the former painter and decorator, who was struck down by multiple sclerosis in 2002, should be considering work. She said: “We thought is was a joke. And when I saw that paragraph I thought it was an insult to Stevie.” Elizabeth, 49, of Blantyre in Scotland, added: “There is no amount of ‘support’ that they could give my husband that would enable him to go back to work.” The Department of Work and Pensions stood by the letters. A spokeswoman said: “There are no conditions attached to the financial support you receive if you have a terminal illness.
“However, it would be wrong not to give those with a terminal illness the same opportunities as others. All our customers are told about the extra support their benefit entitles them to.” But Mr Greatrex, MP for Rutherglen and Hamilton West, said that officials should stop causing upset and alarm by sending the letters to the terminally ill. “The Government know these people are nearing the end of their lives and it is clearly inappropriate to be sending these letters suggesting they should go back to work. It is causing unnecessary distress to people who are terminally ill and their loves ones and they should stop it.” - mirror

Reason for Zimbabwe reservoir delays... mermaids have been hounding workers away!
Essential work on planned reservoirs in Zimbabwe has stopped because mermaids have been hounding workers away, according to the country's Water Resources Minister.
Samuel Sipepa Nkomo told a Zimbabwean parliamentary committee that terrified workers are refusing to return to the sites, near the towns of Gokwe and Mutare.
Minister Nkomo said the only way to solve the problem was to brew traditional beer and carry out any rites to appease the spirits.
'All the officers I have sent have vowed not to go back there', Minister Nkomo was reported as saying in Zimbabwe's state-approved Herald newspaper.
Mermaids are mythological water creatures with a female body twinned with the tail of a fish.
Opinion about the existence of mermaids varies throughout Zimbabwe - some people are skeptical, but some firmly believe that mermaids exist in Zimbabwe.
Dating back centuries, many mermaid stories continue to make their rounds in Zimbabwe.
One tale says mermaids carry humans underwater, but if there is a public outcry their relatives might never see them again.
But another tale suggests victims can return as spirit mediums if their disappearance is not mourned.
The senior politician said that mermaids were also present in other reservoirs.
'We even hired whites thinking that our boys did not want to work but they also returned saying they would not return to work there again,' he added.
The two, long overdue reservoirs are considered essential if Zimbabwe is provide adequate water to its population and to boost its agricultural production.
Having once been the 'bread basket' of Southern Africa, the country's farms have been laid low by lack of faith in government policy.
From 2000, President Robert Mugabe expropriated some 4,000 white owned farms and gave them to politically connected blacks.
Partly as a result, agricultural production is this year forecast to be at its second lowest level since Zimbabwe achieved independence from Britain in 1980.
The belief in mermaids and other mythical creatures is widespread in the country, where many people combine a Christian faith with traditional beliefs.
Local Government, Rural and Urban Development Minister Ignatius Chombo said the government wants to give the population the water it needs, but cannot do so until the rituals are performed and necessary repairs can be carried out.

Thousands of Iranian Women Training to Become Ninjas
Ninjutsu is considered to be one of the deadliest forms of martial arts in the world. But this doesn’t deter the 3,500 odd Iranian women who are currently receiving official training in the sport.
In fact, when I saw a video of these women in action, I was awestruck by their agility and the ease with which they performed gravity-defying stunts and back flips. I couldn’t even tell that the ninjas were female until they removed the masks from their faces. Iran, like many other Islamic countries, has stringent rules regarding the freedom and conduct of women. The laws severely restrict them from participating freely in society; perhaps this is where they derive their quiet strength from. The Ninjustu school in Iran was started in 1989 by Sensei Akbar Faraji. This was the first time the martial art was introduced to the country. While the club now has over 24,000 members, the number of female participants is slowly on the rise. According to Faraji, in Ninjutsu, men are called ninjas, while women are addressed as kunoichi.
The club’s female instructor, Fatima Muamer, says that the sport appeals to women as it helps in maintaining a balance between body and mind. She also points out that the most important lessons in Ninjutsu are respect and humility. “They learn to respect themselves – first to respect their existence and then the art that they are mastering.” Students at the school are also taught to use dangerous weapons – including bows, swords, nunchucks and shurikens – small traditional Japanese implements known as ‘swords in the hand’.
This is not the first time Iranian women have made their mark in sports. In 2005, two Iranian women scaled Mount Everest, becoming the first Muslim women in the world to summit the peak. These women have left their mark in rugby, soccer, and several other sports in the Olympics. Britain Big Cat footage - very convincing evidence!
A leopard-like creature 6ft from nose to tail is caught on video bounding across a field at dusk — which an expert believes is final proof Britain's Big Cats really do exist.
The film was taken by teaching assistant Coryn Memory close to the site of a recent spate of deer killings.
But it was not an isolated sighting. Coryn, 45, says she has seen the animal, described as a "slim, black leopard" in a valley outside Stroud, Gloucs, FIVE TIMES — before finally getting the evidence on film.
She said: "It was around for about 20 minutes and luckily I had my camera. It was probably 300 yards away and I don't think it was aware I was there.
"It came in and out of the field and at one point seemed to be having a root around, probably for small animals...go to Catcha! for more information and graphics
I received the following information from Florida Field Investigator Gary Mansfield:
Lon - having recently investigated several bizarre cases in southwest Florida, I found myself caught up in a progression of close observational sightings in Charlotte and Desoto counties. These sightings have convinced me one-hundred percent that our government has no responsible connection whatsoever with these anomalies. On the flipside of that conjecture, if I am indeed wrong by that assumption, then our government must have resolved the Grand Unified Theory, and are using remote UAV’s only as a cover for advanced superstring technology.
On several occasions I witnessed and recorded these anomalous objects manifest themselves thru a peculiar fractal process that converge into luminous and three dimensional objects. After analyzing several of these recorded events, I realized that the only viable explanation that I could derive was that the cloaking theory, generally associated with UFOs, could possibly be a vibratory emergence from another dimensional “hyperspace time” state. Another consistent observation with these anomalies are they first appear to emerge through multiple converging vertices into a collective and solid 3D state, plus they are always encased within a highly charged cloud of ionized particles.
As you can see, this specific object is strange and unconventional. It appears to exhibit a combination of both structural and bioform characteristic. The size is calculated to be around ten feet in extent, and was recorded at an estimated distance of five hundred meters, and an estimated altitude of two thousand feet.
From all the activity we have seen in the southwest Florida area, I am surprised at the lack of reporting from this area.

Location: near Las Vegas, Nevada, United States
Johnny Sands, 30, a country-western singer who, at the time of his alleged close encounter, was living in Las Vegas, Nevada where he was trying to promote his first recording and was appearing in a show. A polygraph test administered by Robert L. Nolen of Robert H. Nolen Associates of Las Vegas indicates no deception.
Again, as in the past, the occupants are a new type, as can be seen by the accompanying sketch, which was done by a professional artist to Mr. Sands' specifications. Mr. Sands' account is as follows:
He had been out driving to the surrounding towns to check on how well his record was faring at the radio stations and on jukeboxes. He had left Pahrump at 10 p.m. and was driving on the Blue Diamond road, and at about 10:30 p.m., about 22 miles out of Las Vegas, he saw an unusual aircraft. He didn't pay much attention to it, he said, although it seemed to follow him for about 3 miles. At this point, the car's engine began sputtering so he pulled off the road and got out of the car. He walked around the car, removed the gas tank lid and shook the rear end of the car to determine whether he had any gas. He could hear the gas splashing around in the tank, so he replaced the cover and went around to the front of the car and lifted the hood. It was at this time, looking up, he said, that he saw the craft above him at what he estimated to be about 1,000 feet altitude. Sands said it was about 60 feet long and shaped like the Goodyear blimp, with a large, round ring at the midsection. He also said it had windows or portholes (round) about 10 feet in diameter and about 5 feet apart around the circumference of the ring or "doughnut" section, with a light between each. The object was "rusty orange" in color with flashing reel and white lights on the ends. It moved slowly over the mountain to the south of him, lighting up the mountain as it did so, and appearing to land.
Then, Sands said, he turned his attention back to his car, and started to take the air filter off. For some unknown reason, he turned and looked down the road in the direction his headlights (which were on low beam) were shining and saw two figures approaching. He could not make out any details and at first thought they might have been muggers. Then, he said, he "froze" — he doesn't know why — he wanted to move, but he couldn't.
The two figures came toward him, one stopping about three feet away while the other stayed about five feet beyond. Sands described them as perfectly bald with no eyelashes or brows and with gill-like protrusions on either side of their faces which moved rapidly all the while that they stood there. The eyes were small, black and the centers (or pupils) were white. Sands said the mouths were very small and never opened, and that their noses were "pug" or "flattened".
Sands estimates that the whole episode from the time he spotted the two figures until they walked away into the desert, took about 10 minutes. When they left, they walked about 150-200 feet away, then, Sands said, a flash of light "came ' up" and they were gone.
The road on which Sands was traveling is paved, but he says he only encountered four cars during the trip, and that the last one passed by going_toward Pahrump just after he pulled off the road. He had jumped out of his car and tried to wave it down but although the car slowed, it sped up again and continued along its way. After the encounter with the "figures", Sands tried to re-start his car, and it started with no trouble at all and he drove on into Las Vegas.
When Sands initiallyreported his experience, he went to the police who referred him to the Office of Special Investigations at Nellis Air Force Base. The spokesman for that office said that the Air Force had stopped probing the UFO problem in 1969 and that office only handles internal criminal matters. He also said the base's radar "picked up nothing" unusual that night, but only the base's runway headings were being monitored. A spokesman at the McCarran Airport tower said nothing unusual was noted on their surveillance radar which covers a 55-mile radius from the surface "to infinity". However, he did note that the radar is "line of sight" and would not register craft beyond the mountains.
The 10-minute episode is the fascinating part of Sands' story, in addition to his description of the humanoids who, although one asked him a number of questions, requested that he not reveal anything of the encounter. Sands has only revealed a part of what happened, saying that if he revealed the rest, it would be a breech of trust.
The questions the humanoid (who was standing closest to him) asked of Sands were:
1. What was he (Sands) doing there? Sands responded that he was an entertainer and was in Las Vegas to do a show.
2. Why were so many people in Las Vegas? Sands said that it was a tourist type town and that people came to Las Vegas from all over.
3. What is your means of communication? To which Sands replied that he didn't understand the question, because there are several different means of communication. The humanoid seemed to become irritated and said: "Answer the question!" Sands repeated that he didn't understand, whereupon the humanoid turned to the other, and the two just stood facing one another for 2 or 3 minutes, then his questioner turned to Sands, reached out his left hand and brushed Sands' left hand and told him: "Don't say anything about this meeting. We know where you are and will see you again." The two then trooped off and disappeared in a flash of light.
Sands said that the voice of his questioner was deep, and the words came out slowly and almost mechanically with noticeable spacing between each and an echo-like quality. However, although he could tell that the voice came from the man's "body", the mouth did not move at all.
Sands described the humanoid clothing thusly: A black, silverish all-encompassing overall (the artist got his shades reversed in the painting) with no visible seams. When the questioner brushed Sands' hand it felt like "rough, heavy duty sandpaper." Besides the white strap which ran diagonally from right shoulder to the left waist, there was a wide white "patent-leather-like" belt on which there hung capsule-shaped objects which were silver colored and about 1 inch long. They appeared to be hanging on hooks and the "man" twisted one of them all the while that he talked to Sands until he brushed Sands' hand and turned and left.
The "men" were about 5'7" or 5'8", about 140 pounds, Sands said, and their gloved hands had a thumb and four fingers like normal humans. He also noted what appeared to be padding over the top of the feet, as well as across the back of the foot. The feet were covered by the same type of material as the rest of then" bodies. They seemed to be very light on their feet and made no sound as they walked, as if they were off the ground, although Sands said they were definitely touching it.
Also very interesting is Sands' description of the face of the one who "talked" to him: "The face was wrinkled. Now, bodywise, he looked as fit as a 21-year-old but in his face, facial structure -- I don't know, something gave me the idea this guy was 300 or 400 years old. It's a very powerful face, a very powerful set of eyes. He's not so ugly as he is powerful looking," Sands told investigators.
The machinations of a film crew calling themselves Dave Dunn Productions who were beginning work on a TV series dealing with the strange, unusual and unknown, served to muddy the waters considerably. On the evening of February 10, they took Sands out to the site of his experience where he was instructed to stay in the car. Meanwhile, an argument apparently started among the film personnel and, hearing snatches of the conversation, including "what,will we do with him (gesturing toward Sands in the car) — he's already heard too much," he started to get out of the car, whereupon two "fuzzy things" ran at the door and kept him inside. He said that every time he tried to get out of the car they would repeat the performance.
Mr. Sands called Mr. Lorenzen after they had taken him back to Las Vegas and related these events and was very agitated about the incident. He said that the Dunn people had taken him to dinner and they'd had a few drinks and he wondered if he'd been drugged because he couldn't remember the entire evening.
Piecing the whole thing together, the Lorenzens have hypothesized that the film crew may have had two men dressed in animal-like disguises (the "things" were manshaped, Sands said) for the purpose of frightening Sands so that they could film him in an actual terrified state.
In a report to John Romero, APRO Field Investigator in Las Vegas, Mr. Nolen, the polygraph operator, states:
"Following are listed the relevant questions and the subject's vocal responses.
"1. On January 29th, did you see two strange figures in the desert? Answer: Yes
"2. Did you communicate with these strange figures? Answer: Yes.
"3. Did these strange figures tell you that they would see you again? Answer: Yes.
"4. Were you under the influence of. anything at the time of this meeting? Answer: No.
"5. Regarding what happened on Thursday, January 29, have you told the truth about what you saw that night? Answer: Yes.
"A total of three charts were obtained using the above relevant questions. During these three charts, Mr. Sands indicated an ability to respond automatically to vocal stimuli. His responses in the critical areas were not consistent with deception criteria.
"After careful examination of this subject's polygrams, it is my opinion that Mr. Johnny Sands was truthful in his answers to the above relevant questions. I am not attesting to the truthfulness of the whole story that Mr. Sands has told, only to the veracity of his answers to the above relevant questions."
It has been suggested to Mr. Sands that he undergo hypnotic regression in order to attempt to retrieve further information but he is afraid of hypnosis. APRO consultants feel, however, that some progress may be made in that direction in the future.
In view of Sands' apparent sincerity and the polygraph tests, this case cannot be entirely discounted. Also, there is the verification of the initial sighting of the object by others who called the police department that evening and reported seeing an object in the area, the description of which closely matches that of Johnny Sands'. Obviously there is considerable follow-up work to be done on this case which is one of the more puzzling ones to come out of the 1975-76 "flap". - APRO Bulletin - March 1976

Exorcist claims Pope Benedict XVI chased demons from St. Peter's Square
A blessing by Pope Benedict XVI exorcised the devil from two howling men during a general audience in St. Peter's Square in 2009, a leading Catholic exorcist says in an upcoming book.
Extracts from the book by Gabriele Amorth, a well-known exorcist for the diocese of Rome who has already written two books on treating demonic afflictions, were published in Panorama magazine on Thursday.
The Vatican has denied that the pope performed an exorcism on the men.
Amorth said two of his helpers brought the men, known only as Giovanni and Marco, to the audience to see the pope, where they began to shake, becoming increasingly agitated and showing violent signs of being possessed.
When one of the helpers asked Giovanni to control himself, he said "I am not Giovanni" in a voice that was not his own, before throwing himself on the floor along with Marco when the pope's car arrived, Amorth said.
"The two possessed men fell to the floor and banged their heads on the ground. The Swiss guards watched but did nothing, perhaps they have seen how the possessed react when faced by the pope before?" Amorth said.
"The pope began to wave to the crowd and Giovanni and Marco started to howl, drool, shake and fly into a rage. The pope did not get flustered, he raised an arm and blessed the four people.
"The possessed were then hit by a wild jolt, their whole bodies were hit. They flew three metres backwards... and howled no longer," he said.
The Vatican's spokesman Federico Lombardi told AFP that the pope had no idea who the men were or that they were there that day.
"Even if the facts are true, it's not correct to talk about an exorcism by the pope, who was not warned or aware of their presence. There is no connection, and the pope had no intention to perform an exorcism," he said.
Exorcism is an ancient practice of evicting demons from a person or place, and exists in several religions.

Question the obvious...are there 'big cats' roaming Britain?
This is the biggest question posed by many people who have an interest in the subject of 'British big cats', and it is a subject often scoffed at by sceptics. Hopefully, this blog will answer a few of the questions posed by sceptics and also those with a genuine interest in what has become known as the British 'big cat' phenomenon. As a full-time researcher into the subject I've collected reports from the south-east of England since the age of nine! after hearing about a sighting in the area of Blue Bell Hill. Almost three decades later I'm still collecting evidence and believe that without a shadow of a doubt there are large, exotic cats roaming Britain. It's only natural there are a lot of sceptics to this subject, after all, a majority of 'big cat' stories in the press are often inaccurate or simply a beastly Halloween headline, but again, I'm hoping this blog will convince some sceptics that these stories are not born from myth or overactive imagination and that I am not insane in my quest!
I'm looking forward to any constructive comments and thought-provoking questions and will be covering a wide range of subjects to hopefully explain the why, what, where and when of the saga, a saga which in fact has been going on a lot longer than many people would have you believe. Although I've always enjoyed studying folklore, my research into exotic cats is very much something I like to keep separate. I decided to take it upon myself to study the sightings and evidence because the so-called 'mystery' of such cats has, mainly since the 1960s, been relegated to folklore. The reality is, there is no mystery as to why there are large cats roaming the wilds of Britain, and hopefully I'll explain why in this blog. I have conducted lectures, organised field trips, written articles and books, and liaised with zoologists, police, scientists, in the hope of simply making the public aware that large cats do roam the UK. Most counties seem to have a 'big cat' in their midst, and this is true, and certainly not folklore. Over the last few weeks there have been numerous stories in some of the major tabloids regarding potential evidence to support the theory that 'big cats' roam the woods, but as you'll find when reading this blog, the evidence has always been there, and is in fact quite easy to find if you know what you're looking for.
Kent - the 'garden of England' is still a heavily wooded, and in some places, dense forest county. Our wilds can provide ample enough shelter for an animal that does not want to be seen - and yet, despite the scepticism, sightings persist - and have for decades since the Surrey 'puma' legend hit the county of Surrey during the 1960s. From then on there have been beastly legends, from the Exmoor and Bodmin tales of the West Country, to the forests of the Scottish Higlands, the valleys of Wales and the remote moors of Yorkshire. Is every eye witness mistaken ? Can every so-called 'big cat' sighting be explained by species native to the UK, such as foxes ?
I will attempt to update this blog as regularly as possible, so if you have any questions, evidence or sightings please do get in touch. By writing this blog I am hoping that any detractors of my research, or sceptics, will look at the evidence with a non-bias view. 'Blue Balls' mystery solved
The suggested explanations for the mysterious blue balls that appeared in a Dorset garden have ranged from the unlikely — the eggs of a marine creature – to the downright bizarre – the bodily secretions of angels. Scientists at Bournemouth University have announced they have solved the puzzle. There is no need to prepare a welcome for extra-terrestrials. The blue balls are almost certainly sodium polyacrylate or waterlock, an absorbent polymer used in nappies and by florists and gardeners as a way of keeping soil moist.
It is still not clear how the substance came to be in the garden but it may be that a heavy hailstorm that seemed to make the balls appear had quickly saturated the sodium polyacrylate crystals, and so caused them to rapidly increase in size. Earlier this week, Bournemouth resident Steve Hornsby reported how the sky above his house turned dark then yellow. A violent hailstorm followed and afterwards he found odd gel-like blue balls in his garden. A jar of the crystals was taken to the school of applied sciences at the university, which has spent the week trying to work out what they are.
Scientists quickly established the crystals were not a life-form. They then drew the water out of them by slowly drying them in an oven and used FTIR spectroscopy, which measures how a sample absorbs or transmits light. This established the balls' "molecular fingerprint" – the procedure often used in crime scenes to establish the nature of a particular substance. Research assistant Josie Pegg confirmed the substance was sodium polyacrylate. It is sometimes used in gardening or agriculture to improve soil – as well as being used in nappies.
The puzzle of how the substance got into Hornsby's garden remains but, admittedly, it is not the greatest of mysteries. "Perhaps someone was having clear-out and chucked them over the fence," said Pegg. The heavy rain may have turned effectively invisible dry crystals into the gel-like blue balls. Pegg did not think her work has been a waste of time. "It has attracted lots of interest and been a break from the norm," she said. But next week she will go back to her normal day job, studying aquatic ecology. - guardian

(unedited) - My Family and I were traveling North I79 from Grove City on Aug 25th to go camping at Virginia’s on the Beach which is a lake side camp ground on Lake Eire, Pa. My wife was driving so I was taking advantage of being a passenger and was looking out the window at the sky. As we got closer to Lake Eire I noticed that there were a few out of place abnormally looking orange stars and commented on them. I was trying to determine if they were planets or stars or whatever they were when I saw what I thought was a shooting star and as I was about to announce it, it changed direction and stopped which really got my attention. We pulled off the interstate and stopped near the intersections of interstate 79 and 90 so I could take some pictures. I took some photos but it was really out of the reach of my 280mm lens so nothing earth shattering came out of that. It was near midnight at the time when those photos were taken. We got back in the car and proceeded on. We were letting the GPS guide is to the campground which was west of Eire about ½ ways between Erie and Conneaut Ohio. As we proceeded we ended up on West Lake Road Route 5 traveling west looking for the camp ground when I saw another shooting star thing that just stopped dead in the air off to the southwest.
We pulled over again so I could take more photos. This time it was much closer. My wife, Step-Son and Step-Niece and I all got out of the car to look at this thing while I grabbed my camera to photograph it. I was facing southwest and its flight path was eastward. As I focused on this thing with my camera I thought to myself I’m getting way better shots but I wish it was closer. Before I could think another thought in a split second this thing was right over top of us almost as if it read my mind. I was caught up in the moment photographing it but it really scared my wife, Step-Son and Step-Niece almost to tears because it moved so weird and approached us like that and I freaked out later. I was able to get some really crazy and descent photos of this thing especially for night shots of a moving object. This thing was house sized but the brightness of the lights made it difficult to make out object’s outline. It made no sound per say but what we did hear could be best described as an electrical buzzing sound like the ones you might hear in those old SciFi movies in mad scientist laboratory. I know that sounds like a goofy description but that is what it sounded like. It had 3 very bright lights no blinking lights or marking lights at all that would be on conventional air craft. And after it slowly flew by us at about tree top height it changed direction northward sped up and flew off. It went very quickly and disappeared towards the direction of Lake Eire.
We ended up lost in Conneaut Ohio and stopped at this convenience store to regroup and find the camp ground. We were talking about the event and the clerk over heard us. She said we see that all kind of stuff all the time here. if you are here for week you’ll see it at least once. she said many people see it near the power plant by the lake along with other strange lights. Heck most locals don’t even report them or give it a second thought it’s so normal anymore. - MUFON CMS
The following is the 2nd installment of the Neath Cafe Haunting, an investigation that Spirit Rescue International has recently concluded. The 1st installment was posted in November after it was published in Haunted Magazine. There will be a 3rd and final installment in the near future. This was a very complicated case that took almost 4 months to investigate and finally clear, though the location will always be a beacon for spirit energy. It is hopeful that any future entities will be more benign that those we dealt with...Lon
The 3rd on-site investigation at PJ’s Place in Neath was attended by Irene, Brian and Jamie. It had been raining all day and by the time they arrived at the location it was coming down in torrents. There is a saying that when the weather is bad it adds to paranormal activity…at least that’s what they were hoping for on this night. The client unlocked the shop to let them in. Irene said that there did seem to be a feeling of ‘something’ when she stepped over the threshold…not good or bad, but different. As Brian and Jamie starting rigging up the cameras Irene logged online to Lon and Kim, who are part of the SRI team in the USA. The client began to describe the activity since they had last been there.
Apparently an apparition of a young boy dressed in Edwardian garb is often seen in the shop. On one particular day, the boy had been witnessed by a customer. As well, the client’s partner had been feeling a sensation similar to a child clinging to his legs when he was preparing food behind the counter. For some unknown reason he got the impression of a young girl about the age of 3 or 4 who seemed to have taken a liking to him. On another day the client witnessed the apparition of a man walking by the counter that suddenly disappeared without a trace.
Irene prefers to keep an open mind until she has proof though, there is a palpable consciousness present at the location. Along with her perceptions she has no reason to disbelieve the client’s revelations. The extended area around the building has an enduring and complicated history and it would not be surprising to anyone on the team if other buildings in the vicinity were experiencing paranormal problems. The venerable Castle Hotel, which is nearby, has a well-known history of active spirits. The past chronicles of this building suggests specific events have been imprinted in the structure. There could have easily been several uses for the location…either for business or as dwellings. For instance, our research uncovered that bodies awaiting burial were stored in this cellar at some period of time.
The night started off slowly. They collected footage and photos as well as several recordings in the hope of gathering some tangible evidence. This included placing locked off cameras and voice recorders in certain areas in the cellars. Trigger objects were placed on the shop floor…one of these being a bright red ball in the hope it would attract a child spirit if there was one about. Unfortunately no movement was detected.
The client left for the evening to attend an engagement thus leaving the upstairs living quarters empty. The team sat at a table with the voice recorder on while Brian began to call out. A few minutes into the session, just as Brian asked for the spirits to make noise, several loud bangs came from the living quarters above the shop. They knew that no one was up there. When the client returned home it was apparent to him that nothing had been moved out of place. There was no clue as to what caused the loud banging sounds they had heard downstairs.
About 3/4 of an hour before the team planned to leave Jamie, who was standing at the top of the steps that led to the cellar, screamed out that he was “seeing something”. Irene ran to him with a camera hoping to catch it. He later revealed that he noticed something very vague, though shaped like a person, was at the bottom of the stairs and seemed to be moving up the steps toward him. He stated that the apparition resembled “a round head soldier from the Cromwell period”. The apparition only lasted a short time and he tried to catch it on camera as it was beginning to dissipate. The footage did capture some movement but the apparition was not discernible.
Nonetheless his sighting was very interesting because, unbeknownst to Jamie at the time, a Parliamentary or ‘Roundhead’ officer was perceived in that same cellar area during a previous remote view session conducted by Lon and monitored by Irene. Was the apparition witnessed by Jamie a confirmation of our glimpse into the past?
The investigation was subsequently cut short because Irene received a telephone call from home. Her daughter-in-law, who was alone at Irene’s house, was frantic. Irene’s resident spirits (she has 3 in her home) were acting up, apparently none too thrilled about being left with her daughter-in-law.
During the 4th on-site investigation, Billy and Natalie traveled from London to join Irene and Brian. They arrived in Neath at 8PM and, for once, it was a nice dry late Autumn evening. One thing Irene always does when first entering a supposedly haunted location is to consciously note her first impressions…notably the feel of the atmosphere. This night the shop’s atmosphere felt warm and inviting. They put all the bags and equipment down and at the same time the client was telling them of his latest shock the place had given him.
During the week, the client had come downstairs early in the morning to find the door to the cellar wide open. The client is the only person to possess a key and he had locked the door the previous evening. On investigating the cellar he found a pile of wood strewn all over the main cellar floor as well as cases of coffee cups and lids scattered about. His tools had been tossed around and the freezer with spare ice cream was switched off. All of his stock had thawed and was completely ruined. It was obvious that someone or something had ransacked the cellar the previous night. Irene followed him down the cellar steps…he wanted to show her what had happened and where everything had ended up. Walking into the room she could feel nothing paranormal. She could see the piles of wood rubble but she didn’t sense anything out of the ordinary.
One important detail that Irene chose not to disclose to the client was that on the evening of the disruption in the cellar Lon and Irene had conducted a 2nd remote viewing session. During the session there were a variety of subspace beings perceived including the Parliamentary officer who was very active throughout the session. There was a specific wall in the cellar that attracted Lon’s attention during each on-site investigation as well as in the midst of the remote views. He wasn’t sure if it was a vortex but it seemed to expel an intermittent benign energy. He had decided to focus on this area during this night’s investigation.
Returning upstairs to the shop floor the client left the team to themselves and went upstairs to the living quarters. They went about rigging up all the equipment and then logged on the webcams, connecting Lon and Sunny in the USA. Natalie began by doing a walk around taking photos of the shop floor and the cellars. These images produced a variety of orb activity, something they were to see a lot of during this night’s investigation. Billy set about placing a camera on a tripod in a position where it was able to capture the full view of the shop itself. Brian was placing locked off digital recorders in the cellar.
As the evening went on it was decided to place the two laptops, with Lon and Sunny, in the cellar so they could watch and listen through the webcams via Skype. Lon’s webcam was pointed toward the aforementioned wall and placed backed far enough to get a good view of the entire area. Sunny’s webcam was place at the entrance to the tunnel that started in the cellar and continued under the street in front of the building. Both we left on their own as the team returned to the shop floor above. This proved a very good move as they were able to hear some unusual sounds and witness odd activity through the webcams.
During the session in the cellar, Sunny stated that she witnessed a shadow move across the tunnel wall. She was able to take a webcam capture of part of the shadow. She also stated that there was another apparition that crossed in front of the camera. Throughout the session there were a number of odd sounds including hissing and muffled voices though very few of these sounds were heard on the voice recorders.
Lon was interested in the far wall in the forward room of the cellar. There may have been a fireplace or tunnel in this area at one time since there were different grades of brick and blocks now embedded in the wall. There was also a flex sewage pipe extending from the ceiling to a few inches above the floor. The pipe was about 2-3 ft. in front of the wall and was sturdy enough that it was very hard to move by hand. As Lon watch the wall area he was shocked when he noticed that the pipe was fading from view then reappearing. He quickly took several webcam captures of this activity…images with the pipe visible and others with no pipe visible were the result. This was, by far, the strangest paranormal activity he had ever witnessed. The team is still in a quandary as to this anomaly. Had they discovered a dimensional overlap...possibly a tear in the veil between realities?

Upstairs in the shop, the CCTV was switched on and projecting on to a flat screen television for all present to see. The sight they were watching was hypnotising according to Irene… “the only way I can describe it is as if you have ever been in a snowstorm when the wind is blowing. The way the snow is blown sideways. This is what it looked like. Hundreds and hundreds of orbs moving all in one direction down the length of the shop from front to back. It certainly was a lovely sight and we found it difficult to pull our attention away from the television screen”.
After relocating the laptops from the cellar to the shop, Irene returned with Billy to the cellar. Billy went into one of the cellar rooms and Irene walked into the tunnel…standing there trying to get a feel of this place. She was propelled forward as something pushed her in my back and a cold icy chill seemed to surround her for a moment. She stated that she hates it when things like that happen as if something sneaks up on her. She’s not the type to scream and panic but instead, her dander gets up and she becomes a bit confrontational.
At the time, Billy was in the cellar room adjacent to the tunnel. He had Irene’s oldest bit of equipment in his hand…an old Sony Ericson cybershot cell phone that had proved its usefulness many a time before. Out of curiosity he went into the tunnel hoping the same would happen to him. He started filming from the end of the tunnel with the door open giving him a good view of the staircase.
Time was quickly passing and after a couple of sessions of calling out in the shop and because of the lateness of the hour they decided enough was enough for this night and wrapped up the investigation. The worst part of these investigations are the hours of waiting and hoping something will happen. It may seem as if nothing of interest has been seen or captured. The thought of many hours of trolling through all the footage taken can only feel worth it when there is something caught on the camera or voice recorder that cannot be debunked. Arriving at her home it was time for Irene to start the tedious job of reviewing everything and sending footage to the USA for Lon to examine.
Besides the webcam captures Lon gathered there seemed to be nothing of interest until Irene watched the footage Billy had taken in the dark on the Sony Ericson cell phone. When reaching the bottom of the cellar steps, straight ahead is the tunnel. If you turn right, there is a door that leads into the center room of the cellar which has a door either end leading into other rooms. Billy was standing at the walled off end of the tunnel with the tunnel door wide open filming the staircase the other side. Irene was upstairs in the shop looking for the missing camera while Natalie and Brian were watching the television and the flood of orbs traveling through the shop. They can be heard on the audio of the film…Irene moaning about the camera as well as Brian and Natalie discussing the orbs. Billy is shouting to Irene in an attempt to tell her where the camera is…but she can't hear him. The film plays on and suddenly the door on the left to the center cellar opens and closes as if someone had just walked out the cellar…but no one is there. Billy was unable to see this as he was filming in the dark with only the light of the camera. Before the recording finishes Irene can be seen coming down the steps to say something to Billy. There were only the four team members on this investigation and each one of them can be accounted for.
After the evidence was examined and discussed we are still left with many questions. We have our work cut out for us…but we are very confident that we can remove the offending entities at this location. This client deserves the ability to run his business without the distraction of paranormal activity.
